Stranger's gift

As the last of the sun's rays dissapered from Green Falls a strange figure in a ragged, dark back cloak appered on the street. It was hard to tell which direction he came from, if he even came from one. He sort of seemed to melt out of the shadows made from the last of the light. The figure made it's way quickly and silently down the street. It came into the Green Fall's Library without a sound, drifting past the late visiters. It made it's way up to the frount desk where the head Librarion Iivari was reading a book by the dim light of a lamp. He was so absorbed in what he was reading he didn't notice the figure until it stopped infrount of the desk. Iivari looked up in time to see the figure take a book out of his cloak and toss it onto the desk. He turns around before saying. "I heard there was quite the fight going on. Maybe this will help...tip the odds." He vanished into the streets without another word. Iivari looked down at the book. It was an old book bound in leather. He carefully opened it. His eyes widened as he flipped through the book. It was a book full of old spells that had been long since forgotten by most that wield magic. It was extreamly powerful magic that if found by the wrong person could cause some serious damage to eather the Rescuers or the Destroyers. He quickly concels the book. Had anyone seen it? He looks over at the people left in the library. They didn't seem to have noticed the stranger but of course they could be faking it. He didn't want to take the chance that anyone had recognised the book. If any Destroyers had they would almost certianly try to take it. His grip on the book tightens. Were any of these visiters enemys or allies? It was almost time to find out. The moon was rising higher into the sky. Soon the war would commence and every possible advantage would be taken. That included the book.

Books books and more books, gosh these things could get heavy. Imeria put the three books onto the table she sat by, she was hoping to find anything to help with the war, perhaps some insight on angels and all that other dumb shit. She slowly sat down by the table and looked up at the clock in the library, she didn't feel all that... violent... tonight, so she would skip seeking out angels to fight tonight, even if it wasn't like her she decided that some education would do some good for once.
She flipped through the pages of the books she had by her and sighed deeply, already extremely bored of the whole 'reading' thing.
"this is so dumb"
She thought to herself as she yawned loudly, she stretched out her arms into the air and closed her eyes, deciding to rest her eyes for the time being. Her mind drifted back to the desert she came from... the warmth and all the pretty ladies~ Don't get her wrong, the women here were gorgeous, but sometimes Imeria just felt a bit homesick, especially since this place was chilly compared to where she was from.
Right then the wind brushed her when the door to the library was opened and closed silently, Imeria frowned.
"fuckin' door"
She mumbled to herself and opened her eyes, leaning back over at the books and noticed the figure enter the library. Imeria raised an eyebrow slightly as she eyed the figure, they walked over to the one working there... and oh my... this mysterious cloaked figure, and then the look on the guy's face? Something was up.
Imeria quickly buried her face in the book as she wondered what was going on, what was in that book? It seemed really old. Imeria would occasionally peek up from the book and over at the purple-haired guy with the book, she narrowed them slightly as her curiosity grew larger by the minute, she couldn't focus on the book anymore, she'd just stare and it blankly and flip the pages once in a while so people thought she was reading. Looking out of the closest window Imeria smirked a bit at the darkening sky, it was almost time. She took a deep breath as she regularly glanced at the one with the book, waiting for him to do something, heck, she was waiting for anyone to do anything, if nothing good would happen soon, she'd have to take matters into her own hands.

In the quietness of the library, as the night approaches, one would expect that rescuers and destroyers would be getting restless at the thought of the nearing battle. And then we have this guy. Able sits in a quiet corner of the library sitting on the floor secretly with his shoes off, feeling the carpet with his toes. He has a small stack of books at his side and his nose pressed into one already. What could he possibly be reading? A book on fighting tactics? A book of spells? Well it's nothing like that. Instead it is a manga, a romantic comedy that has him giggling and awwwing like a little school girl. In fact all the books he has are of this sort: romantic novels.
When the cloaked stranger came and went he didn't even look up. Instead he remained there giggling giddily and curling his toes against the carpet. He wasn't at all aware that things could go south quick, specially with that "charming" destroyer girl in the same area.

While Imeria not-so-patiently stood up to put away the books, she heard a bit of giggling not so far away. She raised an eyebrow and wondered what pervert was reading porn in the library and giggling like that, judging by the voice she expected it to be Kain. That damn coward. She put away the books and ran her hand through her hair, approaching the giggling silently, she might as well talk to the damn chicken and check if he'd be willing enough to help her get that damn book out of the mans hands, he could be useful for once.
So it surprised her when she saw Able there.
"Go home, Kid."
She said coldly and narrowed her eyes at the guy on the floor, reading one of these dumb foreign cartoon book things, she had no idea what they were called... mana? Anga? Mama? Meme? Menga? She decided not to think to much of it.
She continued to look at Able, he has been oh-so kind once to help her with her wounds once after a battle, he had been dumb enough to only appear in his human form, so now she knew who he was if she'd see him out on the streets... heck, she should probably kill him here, he looked so vulnerable. She folded her arm, her other hand stroking the place where her wound used to be gently.
No... she owed the guy this once, so a fair warning of what was going to take place was good enough, right?
" You don't want to be here"
Of course this was the first time he would see her in her human disguise, so talking to him might be dumb... but to mention it yet again, she owed the guy for fixing her up. So now she stood there, with folded arms and narrowed eyes, as if she was scolding a child.

He paused when he heard the person talking to him. Kid? He didn't understand why he was called that. He was old enough and certainly tall enough to be considered an adult wasn't he? Or were customs here even stranger then he thought they were. Able glanced up at the woman blinking and cocking his head to the side a bit like a confused puppy. That voice, wasn't it familiar? But he hadn't met anyone like this.
"Why? Is this your spot in the library?"
His voice was of course soft and rang with innocence. He probably should have been able to guess why it wasn't wise for him to be here but, he is special like that, besides who would fight in a place like this?

Imeria sighed deeply as she pushed the thoughts away, now wishing there WAS a cute lesbian here to flirt with. Geez this war had put a hold on her sex-life too long in her opinion. She flipped her hair as she pushed the thoughts away, deciding that becoming more irritated wouldn't do much but blow her cover.
"No, this is the first time I've come here"
She answered Able and continued to look down at him, but soon went on both her knees, she placed her hands on the carpet and leaned in a bit closer to him, her expression remained the same.
"I'm just giving you a fair warning, kid, you don't want to be here if you dont want to get hurt."
Yeah, she sounded like she was threatening him... but oh well, as long as it would get him out of here and her debt to him will be payed. She wasn't sure what she'd do if he wouldn't leave... maybe throw him out of the window? hmm that might not be a good idea, since then people would most definitely notice her. She sighed a little at the thought.

Able blinked as she did this, pressing his back closer against the wall, and nibbling his lip a bit shyly. Not that he was necessarily scared for his well being, he was worried he had still done something wrong by her expression. He didn't want to upset or hurt others and she appeared to be upset with him by her tone. He just looked into her eyes and held his book to his chest.
"... Did I do something wrong? Is there going to be some kind of natural disaster?"
He gulped a bit as he asked this silly question not thinking that it might just irritate her even more. He was still trying to place that voice, even that tone of hers was familiar. This couldn't be the woman whose arm was hurt that night, could it? The one he helped even though her words weren't the most civil?

Iivari watched the two converse out of he corner of his eye. He couldn't make out what they were saying but he didn't suspect it was anything good. Keeping the book hidden he casually walks out from behind his desk. "Library's closing in five minutes. Please wrap up whatever you're doing." He announces. Best to act normal and not make a scene. And to keep an eye on those two.

Imeria brought her hand to her forehead and pressed two fingers on it, rubbing it with small circular movement as she closed her eyes and narrowed her eyes. Ugh, was this guy so naive? She felt the frustration build up even more in her stomach and she really really really wanted to grab him by the hair and drag him out.
She twitched slightly when she heard the purple haired guy talk, looking into his direction and looked back at Able.
"Well, you heard the guy. "
She folded her arms now while she looked at him, waiting for him to put on his shoes and get the hell out of there, now. But she'd make sure to look over at what she guessed was an angel, she didn't want him out of her sight.

"A-Ah!"
He gasped out and looked over at the purple haired male as the announcement was made. He quickly started to scramble all his books together. He really wanted to check them out but in his eagerness to read he forgot to register for a card. Now it was this late. He raised his hand trying to draw the guy's attention, nearly losing all the books he had gathered up. He glanced slightly at Imeria.
"Ummm... Miss I really hate to ask... but if I can't check these out will you check them out for me, that is of course if you can. I'm not saying you have to or anything. But it would be really appreciated."
He was really nervous to ask that, hating to burden people with favors. He gave a small cutely nervous smile.

Imeria almost growled at the boy when he made that request but... an idea popped into her head, while she'd do him this tiny favor and register those dumb Japanese cartoon books, she could get close enough to the purple haired librarian. Perfection. Imeria put up a large smile.
"Sure thing, kid, a favor for a pal shouldn't be a problem at all~"
She looked at the books he was holding as she stood up, getting ready for her plan to set into motion.

His face brightened up as she accepted his request, quickly hopping up and trying to get his shoes on.
"Thank you so much Miss. Let me know how to return the favor!~"
He was just so happy that he was going to be getting these books. Not all of them were manga, some were actual book books all of the same genre though: romance. He tilted his head a bit though at what she said.
"Might I ask How I am a kid, and when we became pals?"
This was probably the smartest thing he has said the whole time. Though... he wasn't accusing her of anything or being suspicious per say he was just curious and trying to get a better understanding of people.

Imeria smiled a little at Able and ran her hand through her hair. she looked over at the purple haired man, now... what should she do when she gets her hands on that book? Well, first she needed to decide on if she was going to try to kill the guy or not, also when would be the best time to change into her night-form.
Oh. She should probably make it quick, turn into her night-form and claw his throat out, yeah... that was a good idea, she was going to get close enough anyway. The thought that this man might be a demon as well did cross her mind, but she decided that it was worth the risk... if she were to kill someone of her team, then she'd just have to accept the punishment from the big-boss... well, if he's tough enough to dish out any proper punishments. Yet for some reason she doubted he'd do that to her, the last time she was in a fight with him she could hear him shout at their team-mates and point at her, saying that she was the only one doing her job right, Imeria smirked a bit as she thought back to that, if this whole thing hadn't been such a mess, she would have found it funny.
"hm?"
She looked at Able and raised an eyebrow, surprised he was asking that... why did it matter if she called her kid? well, pal was rather weird so she managed to make herself understand why he asked her that... but the kid thing... She stuck her tongue out at him teasingly and narrowed her eyes slightly.
" Because you act like a kid and we aren't pals, I just wanted to sound.."
she paused slightly , preparing herself.
"friendly."
Then she looked over at the desk, yeah, they shouldn't stall anymore, if the librarian was smart enough he will have noticed them by now, or in the very least noticed her.
"But let's get over to the desk now, we need to register those books before this damn fireplace burns"
Hah... she was so funny.

Oh... that makes sense. He smiled and nodded though didn't get her humor.
"I guess I can seem pretty childlike."
He giggled slightly as he finally got his shoes on semi-right though was walking on the heel of one of his shoes, it flopping a bit with his steps. He held his books close to him as he headed for the desk a bright smile on his face. Yeah he did act a good bit like a kid.

Iivari noticed them approach and calmly greeted them, not giving a single hint that underneath his jacket he had his hand on his knife, ready to attack at any second if they made any false moves. The boy seemed harmless enough with all his giggling and romance Manga but he knew all too well that didn't mean a thing. The girl was a difference story. He could tell with a glance she had a serious attitude and was the kind of person who liked to be in charge. His hand tightened on his knife. She almost screamed Destroyer but he couldn't kill her without any evidence. Some people were just like that. "You're checking out those books? I'll need to see your library card for a second please." He said in his usual quiet voice.

Kaichi leans against the wall while reading an interesting book. He often visits the library, looking for magical books, though he likes reading. He sensed a dark presence when a shadow came over to the purple haired guy. The book he gived to the guy caught Kaichi's attention. What could be written inside? Maybe magic spells? He must find a way to free himself from the curse. A curse which turns him into a little boy at day. He tries to focus on the book he was reading, but was suddenly disturbed.
Who the hell are making such noise in the library?
He closes his book and look in Imeria's and Able's direction.
Oh these two...
Last time he saw Imeria at a battle. He remember that she quickly got away. Scared babe? he thought and grins. Then he looks at Able. These two... Since when did they get along? He even got a hard time to deal with Imeria. Well, whatever that isn't his business. He takes his book to the purple haired guy. The library is closing soon, so he can't finish reading here.

Imeria slightly rolled her eyes at what Able said, that guy was such a virgin, all innocent and shit, it was way too easy to play him into her plans... even then HE was the one that gave her the idea. Imeria reached into the tiny bag she had around her waist and fiddled around in it
" I know, I know"
Imeria mumbled as she finally found her card, she actually bought it the moment she got to this damn town, who knows when you need a library card? Imeria had everything ready in her apartment, credit cards and all those human things that she'd need to be able to pass as one, can't go breaking store clerk's bones now?
"I'm just doing this guy a favor"
She glanced up, noticing how his other hand tensed up... yeah, he definitely had a weapon of some sort... most likely a knife, or he was going to 'cause a lot of noise with a gun.... Fuckin' guns... those tools are made for cheating, them AND wings! She frowned slightly as she placed her card on the desk, forcing up a smile while she thought back to being shot at... some of these angels, heck, even demons were just big cowards, hiding behind those guns to protect them.
"...!"
Oh. Fuck. No.
Imeria looked over at Kaichi. Fuck nooooooooo!! She instantly frowned at him when she noticed him, how long has he been there? Did he even know how to READ?! He better not get in her way with this. And if he even THINKS of flirting with her here NOW she WILL throw a fit.

Iivari took the card and quickly checked out the books with expert speed. A slight, tiny smile appeared when he saw the girl's reaction to the young boy. It did his heart good to see someone like that taken down a few pegs by someone so much younger than them. Of course he had no idea what their relationship was but from the look on her face it wasn't a favorable one. He takes the boy's book and card and quickly checks out the book, keeping an eye on all three of them. The girl seemed weary of his weapon, the older boy with the romance manga seemed completely oblivious to what was going on around him and the newcomer, the younger boy, seemed interested in the rude girl. Were they demons teaming up on him? He glanced at the clock. The sun was almost down. Time was running out. His grip tightened on his knife. They would leave if they knew what was best for them.

He was so freaking happy when the books were checked out he started to hug them tightly to himself. By now completely forgetting about his shoe not being on right. Oh Able you can be such a silly boy.
"Thanks again Miss. And you too sir."
He chimed looking from Iivari to Imeria but noticed she was glancing elsewhere at the moment. He tilted his head as he looked over at Kaichi. Of course he gave a welcoming smile to the boy. He wasn't noticing any of the hostility between any of them. He was just here wanting to read. Besides he was really too happy right now.

Kaichi thanked the purple haired guy when he gived him the book. Somehow it feels like three people are staring at him. He never met those three in dayform. Did they recognize him? He quickly glances at Imeria who seems like angry or planning something. He raises one eyebrow.
Have you never seen a little boy in a library?
He had no intention to flirt with her. Not in this form. The other two guys would think he is crazy to hit on much older girls. He walks away in silence. The weapon that the purple haired guy is holding, made him nervous. He better go away since he is weaker in this form. Somehow he worries about Able. Will he be alright? That naive, innocent guy could be in trouble... Kaichi decided to stay for a moment, keeping an eye on Able. He hides in a shadow, so nobody could see him.

Iivari cheers up a bit seeing Able so happy with his books. It make him happy to see someone so enthusiastic about reading. He looked so happy Iivari let his guard down, just for a moment, distracted by the cute scene.

Imeria continued to glare at Kaichi, sighing when he looked away.
But there it was.
The perfect opening.
Imeria grinned as her appearance turned right away, her nails gripped into the desk that was in front of her and she threw it forwards at the librarian.

Iivari quickly snapped back into reality, quickly diving out of the way of the desk. It brushed his shoulder bruising it a bit but he got away without and serious injuries. He quickly pulled out his knife and threw it with deadly accuracy at the destroyer.

A sound escaped the boy as he quickly moved and watched the two start to fight. He didn't know what to do, who does he help? He held his books protectively to his chest as he stepped away, his shoes causing him to stumble some. He nibble his lip a bit.
"Um Miss. That wasn't nice. He was just checking out our books!"
and then a knife was thrown. Yeah... he was just in the middle of the chaos.

Kaichi facepalms when he sees Imeria starting a fight. That girl is so troublesome...But, that makes it more interesting. He takes out his earring from his pocket and transforms it into a scythe. He narrows his eyes and wait for the perfect moment. This should stop them... He throws his scythe fiercely between the purple haired guy and Imeria. Just when the scythe passed them, it transforms into strings which binds around their body. Kaichi steps out from the shadow and look and their direction.
You two, the library isn't a place for fights.
he said with a calm and serious tone. Hopefully they will stop for now. His small body can't handle more magical power.
